Morris & Co?
c 1910

Could this be an unknown Morris & Co fabric.

There was a prevailing vogue in the early 20th century for reproduction designs, which encouraged Morris & Co to produce pretty floral fabrics, which have the Edwardian country house look. Such was the popularity of these fabrics that Merton could not keep up with the demand and commissioned Stead McAlpine of Carlisle to block print the fabric for them on 48 in/1.22 m width.

The wool and cotton mix unbleached cloth lining is similar to the backing of other Morris & Co pieces I have had. The fringing is certainly like other Morris curtains with original fringing I have bought. Possibly made by A Sindall of 116-8 Middleton Road, East London.

I have not found this pattern in any books on Morris & Co.
