Berlin Raised Work

This cushion embroidery is of raised work and called Plush Stitch, achieved in a series of loops, later cut to give the effect of a thick velvet pile. The shearing was carefully graduated to give a realistic, three dimensional effect.


Cataloguing

with large flower blooms all embroidered in pluish stitch, in shades of red, pink, yellow, orange,  blue and magenta, the leaves in flat cross stich in shades of green, yellows and soft brown, together with a spray of lilac, all on a natural canvas ground, 23 in; 60 cm sq.
