Rich Cream Pashmina
Mid 19th c

Delicious in its simplicity and colour and beautifully soft. It is in fact a rich clotted cream colour, which I have found difficult to photograph.  Ideal to wear as it would go with any outfit. The fringing on the two ends is different so my guess is this shawl has been reduced. It could be used to replace the centre of a damaged kashmir shawl.

Cataloguing

The clotted cream square pashmina woven on a drawloom in a herringbone weave, short fringe to one end and slightly longer (original) to other.

5ft 2 in x 5ft 8 in; 1.55 x 1.75 m

Condition

Clean and fresh looking. It must have been stored. 4 very small holes and three very small areas of very slight wear. I think perhaps the shawl has been reduced in length because the fringing on each end is slightly different.
