Crysedé Dress
1930s

A highly wearable dress in very good quality silk crepe de chine with a fun design. Do notice the pattern. The ducks are facing in both directions, both up and down. This dress would have been made at home and does not have a Crysede label. Unknown design. I cannot trace a name for this distinctive fabric.

Cataloguing

The black ground silk crepe de chiné with pink ducks in water surrounded by fences and trees, the dress with deep V neck, bias cut sleeves with no seams, skirt cut on the cross, the back closing with a long zip, the hem bias binding.

Shoulder to hem 47 in; 1.20 m

Waist 26 in.

Bust 36 in

Condition

Very good. The zip at the top is slightly crooked, but does not detract from the amazing print. The skirt is made from three pieces of silk.
