Cord Quilted Cap
18th century
The detail is incredible work. The bonnet has been made from another garment but beautifully assembled.
Cataloguing
Three sections each with finely worked with cording and embroidery.
4 in; 10 cm across.
Condition
Good. There are two very small areas on the centre section where the top piece of cotton is thin and you can see the lower piece. The sides have some of the tufts popping through. In a way this is nice because you can see the construction.
