Irish Crochet Jacket
c 1910

This would make a wonderful jacket for a bride. Just have a skirt made and you would really look quite unique. I have inserted calico arms into the jacket to show the width at the top is a good size. Of course with bare arms inside, the jacket would look prettier.

Fantastic three dimensional motifs. This jacket would fit a size 8/10 UK.; size 4/6 USA. The fastening of the buttons and loops cuff area can be expanded.  Ireland was the main producer of crochet after 1900. It is said to have originated from Italian 17th century needlepoint lace, most of which was made in sourthern Italy in convents.
