A salesman would take samples to shops or perhaps a lady saleswoman would visit ladies to show them current styles and take fittings.



 


Cataloguing

Scarlet sateen with cream flossing in decorative patterns, the centre front straight with a steel busk, flanked by encased boning between empty boning channels, pointed lower front, the back with brass eyelet holes, lined with off white cotton, the edges with tapes, all machine stitched.

7 in; 18 cm front top to bottom.

Condition

The front has extremly slight darkish marks, but these are not very noticeable. The lining has some red colour run to the top tape and down the left hand side. There are some light brown markings to the right hand side.
