From the collection of the late Mrs June Jeffreys (1928 – 2016) who married George William Eyre Jeffreys (1931 - 2019) in 1960. The house Newhouse, Redlynch, near Salisbury, Wiltshire, has been in the family for 400 years and many of the dress collection was inherited through Mr Jeffrey’s family.


Cataloguing

The large very fine muslin apron with three scalloped sides, the lower border with sprays of leaves emerging from an undulating vermicular 'ribbon', the centre with  alternating small sprays of similar leaves and flowers.



3ft 2 in 4ft 5 in;  97 x 1.35 m wide.


Condition

The waistband is missing. The top is uneven. In very good condition. One pin head hole and one little brown mark. A slight yellow marking. It really needs a good wash! Ask for photos.
