Those Sleeves!
Mid 1830s

What wonderful crazy sleeves.

Of fine white cotton, broderie anglais trim round the neck, the bodice gathered from shoulders down to the central high waist, the back with covered buttons and curing seams,  the shoulders with similar broderie anglais trim and gathering, the sleeves ruched splaying into a huge sleeve, tapering to the sleeve, the cuff with broderie anglais trim, the full skirt with a open slit to the left hand side (for pocket access) two wide tucks to the bottom.

Back neck to hem 49 in;1.25 m

The six covered buttons are there, but the top two have the cotton rubbed to reveal the metal. Under both arms there are patches to cover wear, otherwise very good condition.
