Two Shirt Breast Ruffles

These would be secured by the shirt's buttons and fill up the shirt front vertically.* Bought from a private family together with a gentleman's coat and waistcoat from 1820s
Cataloguing
The linen strip, one end straight the other shaped, all hand sewn with five buttonholes, attached to one long edge with two layers of gathered organaza with simple hand made narrow lace border, starched.
13 in x 3 ; 33 x 7 cm
Condition
The first has four little horizontal splits above the buttonholes, as if it needed adjustment to fit a smaller/larger man.
The second band is in excellent condition.
