Fantastic. Very fine tent stitch uppers, probably embridered by the owner. Unusual metal toe cap. These belonged to Phillippe  Zilcken (20 April 1857 The Hague - 3 October 1930) a Dutch artist and writer.

Description

finely embroidered with jonquils, roses, pinks and other flowers in crimson, ivory, yellow, pale blue on a mid green ground, the latchets with eyelet hole (for a ribbon), the slightly shaped tongue dipping in the centre, this and the edgings with applied linen braid, lined with brown cotton, the rand of ivory kid, leather straight sole, 8 1/2 in; 22 cm.

Condition

The embroidery is unfaded and in good condition. The tape binding is damaged as you will probably see in the photo, if not ask for more. The whitener on the hell has worn and a small manilla label has been stuck to the heel.
