A large and very nice Dutch darning sampler with both the maker and the teacher's names. Forty three darns, with nine large crosses.
A large darning sampler by Mariakalf * Angensmit, the top with Anno 1796, various crowns and inititals EC, MVDM above LHG; SUH above KMS; DK and PDG above AS. Bottom left with GB below a crown, all worked in pulled thread work circles, forty three darns in a huge variety of patterns using crimson, pink, green, blue, ivory and gold linen threads, all on a linen ground.

Very very good. There are a couple of dark brown very small marks. The back has a dark circular mark which shows through a little on the face of the sampler. Slight fading overall. See photos.
