Plain and simple but nice shape. Difficult to find. From the Roger Warner Collection, January 2009 Lucy Locket is a character in John Gay's The Beggar's Opera, 1728, and has since been Cockney rhyming slang for pocket. Lucy Locket lost her pocket, Kitty Fisher found it. Ne'er a penny was there in it Except the binding round it.

Description

of elongated shape with rounded lower ends, natural cotton with narrow waistband, linen tape ties, 17 x 9 in or 44 x 23 cm widest.

Condition

Six rust marks to the lower front and two to the top, the reverse with quite a few. You should be able to see these in the photos. If not ask for more detailed shots.
