Beautiful design and colours. I think this was designed by Anna Maria Garthwaite.
Diagonal sprays of mauve pinks (carnations) with two types of red buds, all on the same stem, crossed with a single spray of mauve and red polyanthus? and another of blue campion, interspersed with sprays of pink roses, polyanthus and blue flowers, all in shades of blue, red, pink, mauve, puce, ochre, yellow and ivory silks on cream silk satin ground.
C - 45 x 19 1/2 in; 1.14 x 50 cm. 1 1/2 repeats. Selvedge to selvedge.
You will see the 10 in; 26 cm horizontal split near the top of the length. You should also be able to see the vertical dart, which is unpicked 13 1/2 in; 34 cm from top right. There is also a very small hole and minor marks.
Silk Designs of the Eighteenth Century Natalie Rothstein p 208, no 240. Similarities with the sprays of flowers with three species, crossed by a single spray. The overall look is similar to no 235 page 205 in above book. It also appears to have green selvedges.
