Afghani Pistol Holster
Late 19th /early 20th century

From Ghazini, 93 miles south west of Kabul.  Stunning with the turquoise beads and oragne embroidery.

Description

The shaped case with orange silk chain stitch, a flower in magenta and white, and a green symbol, silver filé thread, all on a soft magenta gauzy ground, edged with a thick row of turquoise glass beads stitched with magenta silk, the top with a narrower band, lined in red cotton, machine stitched. 

9 1/2 x 5 1/2  in; 25 x 14 cm at top
