Vemeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring has similar ribbons in her hair. This ribbon would have been woven in Lyons or Paris.

Description

Tied in a bow, the silk brocade ribbon woven with apricot and green flowers, alternating with stripes of silver filé  and silver strips

Width of ribbon 1 1/2 in; 4 cm

Width of tied ribbon 9 1/2 in; 24 cm

Condition

The top side of the ribbon has faded. When you look beneath the coral is bright. The two hanging lengths are  split.
