I love the simplicity and plainess of the bonnet, then to discover the very small circle of Hollie Point at the crown with the date and child's name.
From the attic of an English Manor house built in 1550. Provance available.
The infants clothing collection will be sold together.
A simple fine linen bonnet with a wide double flap surrounding the face, the crown with a small circle worked with Louis, 1729 in Hollie Point, a narrow panel of more Hollie Point leading to the back of the head, a narrow Brabant lace length applied to the hem.
Approximate size crown to front 6 in; 16 cm.
Very good. There is a small area of light brown markings to the centre front near the join 3 x 4 cm.
