These are rather marvellous panels, despite wear and damage. Not sure what has happened to what was original a long hanging to wrap round a church pilaster. It is now in five beautiful pieces. I feel they would look lovely mounted, when the splits would be less obvious.
All are of green/blue silk tabby ground with yellow, which looks gold, damask pattern of amoroni, shell motifs, sea dragon tails, grotesque animal heads, with side borders.
B - A pair of tulips with chequerboard centres amongst swirling foliage and C scrolls. 9 x 34 in ; 23 x 60 cm. £ 45
C - A central face with extraordinary headdress and radiating collar, flanked by sea dragon scaly body and foliage. 10 1/2 x 23 in; 17 x 60 cm. £ 95
D - Similar to above. 11 x 23 in; 28 x 60 cm. £ 85
E - A pair of amorini sitting on foliage and holding elongated beak birds, flanking a large flowering plant. 1ft x 2 ft; 30 x 60 cm. £125
All have some horizontal splits. There is also wear to the yellow silk. If you cannot see from existing photos, do ask and I can send more.
B - Slits to above centre and a poor repair - horizontal to the left hand side. Needs unpicking and sewing more sympathetically.
C - Two minor darns to one side which could be improved.
D - One small hole and three of darns, one to left hand side of face.
E - Wear down one side. Split at amorini's foot.
