Marvellous exotic panel to frame or to make a large cushion.
The symmetrical design with a central leaf within a courtouche, surrounded by C scrolls and large scrolling leaves, surrounded by a border with leaves and scrolls, a little raised work, all worked in silver gilt filé, an original short red looped fringe, back with scarlet cotton.
You can see that the silk velvet has rubbed in places, some of the silk core is exposed as is some of the raised work padding. This piece is 400 years old, so in remarkable condition.
