The Ottoman influenced design of four leafy meandering trails with narrow tulips and motifs embroidered in rich shades of maroon and pink, blues, yellow, brown, with spangles and the main flowers outlined with gold filé thread, all on a natural cotton ground.

A beautiful embroidery inspired by Ottoman design hand block printed onto a wool and cotton ground by Thomas Wardle's works. The quality of the embroidery is very good so might well have been embroidered by his wife's Leek Embroidery Society. This Society made a replica of the Bayeaux Tapestry (actually an embroidery) in 1885 which can be seen at Reading Museum.
This would look stunning as a hanging.
