A beautiful embroidery inspired by Ottoman design. The design was hand block printed onto wool and cotton ground by Thomas Wardle's works, but due to the quality of the embroidery might well have been embroidered by his wife's Leek Embroidery Society. This Society made a replicat of the Bayeaux Tapestry (actually an embroidery) in 1885 which can be seen at Reading Museum.
This would look stunning as a hanging.

The Ottoman influenced design of four leafy meandering trails with narrow tulips and motifs embroidered in rich shades of maroon and pink, blues, yellow, brown, with spangles and the main flowers outlined with gold filé thread, all on a natural cotton ground.
