A really beautiful smocked and embroidered Liberty dress illustrated in Artistic Dress at Liberty & Co *. There is touch of grey to the blue silk.
Of deep mid blue tussore silk, the bodice with a wide neck filled with a deep cream chemical lace insert, the deep collar and horizontal panel embroidered with flowers and leaves in blue twisted silks, above a smocked V shape, the full bodice gathered into a very deep smocked waistband above a full skirt, the trained hem with two pintucks and three rows of blue embroidery, the long sleeves horizontally pleated, with fold back cuffs similarly embroidered, the back bodice with three embroidered buttons, then four silk covered buttons, and another group of five on the waist smocking, together with hooks and silk covered eyes,the lace and bodice lined with chiffon and silk.

Back shoulder to trained hem 67in; 170 cm
The exterior of the dress is very good condition. The bodice silk has been unpicked and the chiffon lining and the lace neck is damaged.
