Tulip and Rose was designed by William Morris and registered on 20 January 1876. This length is slightly more blue than the others. It has also had some repair to the lower right hand side which has resulted in a bulge. It would be made it a door curtain, a portière, hiding the slight bulge or it could be used for upholstery.
The thick 3 ply woven wool and linen has terracotta roses and full blown tulips in shaded pale blue with some smaller ochre half tulips, all on an indigo background.
