Ottoman Hanging

This large highly decorative hanging is stunning, with lovely colours and would look great hanging on a wall. As you will see from the condition report the sateen ground has shredded but is all there.

Description

The large central tughra motif worked in thick silk wire, surrounded by lappets contianing silver flowers and probably faux caligraphy, the spandrels with circles containing tughra motifs surrounded by moons and stars, floral sprays, the deep border with with cartouches similarly filled, all using apricot, pale blue and cream sateen, lined with cotton.

8ft 6 in x 5ft 8 in;  2.6 x 1.74 m

Condition

You should be able to see from the photos how the sateen ground has shredded. We have put a few stitches to hold this down in parts of the hanging. The hanging is grubby and cannot be cleaned.
