Designed by Selwyn Image, probably for the Royal School of Needlework. His influence must be of a 17th c blackwork embroidery.
Embroidered in coloured wools and metal threads with a bird and pomegranate design, reserved on a linen ground,
mounted and framed
11 1/2 x 24 in; 29 x 24 cm wide;
Professionally framed with UV glass, in double white wood frame 18 x 16 in; 45 x 41 cm
There is a stain at lower right hand side and a smaller one lower right bottom.
