Spitalfields Dress Silk 1750-60

The ivory silk taffeta brocaded with a self coloured pattern of diagonal inter connecting large medallions containing three different polychrome flowers, and smaller medallions with small pansies, the background with small five petalled flowers amongst dots.

3 ft x 19 1/2 in; 92 x 50 cm selvedge to selvedge.

You can see this length was a skirt length because there are slight folds at the top. On the hem is lovely piece of original fine linen tape.
