This is a wonderful example of a young woman wearing a similar shawl in the 1820s.

Description

Each end border with stylised and bold flowers and leaves, in pink, rust, yellow, green, banana and white on a dark blue silk twill weave ground, the edges woven with ribbons with a yellow, blue, black damask effect.

Length: 8ft 6 in;  2.6 m

Width: 19 1/2 in; 50 cm
