Can you imagine what a dreadful task this was for the young girl. Polychrome samplers are bad enough but an all white. It must have been a punishment! Beautifully worked.

My thanks to Jacquie H who has told me that Maryann Jerry married in 1829 aged 34 years, had a son in 1831, and it looks like twins in 1833.

Condition

You will see some of the young girl's christian name has worn. There are some feint markings to the centre writing and the top area.
