Stunning design and super quality. Probably pilaster hangings. The ground appears to be gold and would have glinted in the low light.
A panel with a huge elaborate intricate guilloche designed vase from which huge strapwork type stems decorated with small cresents and leaves emerge, narrow side borders fo repeated diagonal leaves, all in crimson ciselé velvet on a yellow tabby silk weave ground, backed with handstitched linen.
Total length 23 x 21 in; 59 x 53 cm
B - has the lower left hand corner repaired with an added piece1 1/2 x 1 in; 3 x 2.5 cm. The bottom edge has a little wear.
